How are Dental Veneers applied?

Dental veneer (porcelain veneer) is precisely customized to individual tooth, then tightly bonded onto the tooth surface to cover the body of the tooth with a special dental cement. Not only does the high quality of material contribute to success of dental veneer procedure, but skill and experience of the dentist also play important part in this process.

Dental veneer procedure is still a question to many people

To have dental veneer usually requires 2-3 appointments with dentist. In the first appointment, if everything is alright after the consultation, the dental veneer procedure can be processed right away. If not, you may need to visit the clinic 2 more times to finish the dental veneer procedure. One tooth or many teeth can simultaneously undergo the veneering process.

Step 1: Consultation. Discuss with your dentist your expectation. Teeth examination is taken to make sure dental veneers are appropriate for you.

Step 2: Teeth preparation.

A pretty small amount of enamel from the front and sides of the tooth, which is almost equal to the layer of dental veneers added to the teeth surface, is permanently removed. This step makes room for the veneers so that your teeth look natural.

Step 3: An impression of the prepared teeth is taken, then sent to Minh Khai’s own laboratory for fabrication. Veneer shade is chosen to best match the color of neighboring teeth.

Step 4: It takes several days to make dental veneers. So temporary veneers are applied in the meantime

Step 5: In the next appointment, the dentist places the permanent veneers on the teeth to check the fit and shape. The dentist will adjust if it’s necessary. After all, the veneers are bonded to the teeth permanently
